In modern steel metallurgy, rail transit, automobile machinery, aerospace technology and other industries, fire and temperature resistant materials are widely used. The main types are glass fiber, carbon fiber, high silica fiber, etc. The general temperature resistance of various materials is as follows:
Alkali-free glass fiber, long-term use temperature of 560℃, good insulation, high mechanical strength, but poor wear resistance. High silica fiber, long-term use temperature of 900 degrees, can withstand 10 minutes in an environment of 1450 degrees. Ceramic fiber, also known as aluminum silicate fiber, standard ceramic fiber long-term temperature resistance of 1260 ℃, temperature resistance of ceramic fiber containing zirconium up to 1425 ℃. Light weight and good thermal stability.
Quartz fiber has a long-term temperature resistance of about 1200 degrees, corrosion resistance and soft texture.Carbon fiber, with a carbon content of more than 90%, can withstand a temperature of 1000-1500 degrees, and can withstand a high temperature of 2000 degrees under the protection of inert gas. Graphite fiber, its molecular structure has been graphitized, and its temperature resistance can reach 3500 degrees under the protection of inert gas. Other applications such as basalt fiber with a temperature resistance of 1000 degrees and nylon fiber with abrasion resistance are also very extensive.
